They will give a cheap quote through a comparison site only to start picking apart the answers you gave on the generic site formand demanding photos of everything start ransoming you for additional fees. They then raised a further charge of £77 (adding to a £179 premium - for a £400 bike) because my locked garage door had a gap at the top (not big enough to get a bike through and still 5ft off the ground!) and so they could not class it as a garage!!!
They would not deal with this matter reasonably and I lost faith completely in them, cancelling the policy. True to form, they charged me a ridiculous sum in cancellation fees for (including the disputed additional £77!). Turned out it costs me circa £140 to insure my bike for 24 days. Researching them on the web now it is clear that this is a regular try on and others have had the same experience. Feel conned. I would advise never to use this company.
I took insurance with these guys then 2 days later they sent me an urgent letter. They told me I had to ring up urgently to answer some questions. When I phoned they started asking for photographic evidence and then they wanted £79 extra including an admin charge of £35 to make minor changes. After talking to then for well over an hour I decided to cancel as I was filled with no confidence. They then charged me £49 for 4 days cover and the customer assistant told me that I would get a refund within 5 days then 14 days.
What a con I feel as if I have been fleeced. Avoid this company as they are shady to deal with and are just after getting more money out of you.
I went to this company to insure my defender. The quote was good. I accepted, paid a deposit etc. I sent my documents, to be informed that a 'Commercial Insurance No Claims Bomus' is not acceptable. You see I trade some vehicles (10 to 12 a year) and have done for years., I am a sole trader with traders insurance. Apparently the No Claims Bonus on this is somehow different to the No Claims Bonus on a 'private insurance'. I was not told this to start with or I would not, of course, have continued. I did not volunteer the information of course as my renewal notice says 'No Claims Bonus'. Now the fun bit. They keep the deposit, (£40 or so), and require a cancellation 'fee'. To add insult to injury they first tell me that the cancellation fee will be automatically taken from the card I paid the deposit with, THEN they send a threatening letter demanding payment or they will charge another £25!! So so far I am £70 out of pocket, and threatened by their gross STUPIDITY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. (I am going to the ombudsman of course)
