[REPLY]
We enjoyed the trip very much---unfortunately, we scratched the front bumper.
I had zero deductible insurance which was recommended for drivers used to driving with left hand drive cars.
We were charged 75 pounds on our credit card . I said--"we have insurance" she said--no matter--deal with autoeur in the US. I called and they said we shouldn't have been charged. Time to get some acts together.
When we arrived at the car rental office in Manchester, England, the only car rental desk with a waiting line was Autoeurope. The line proceeded to get longer and longer.
It was said that there was a "computer problem".
My reservation was for 11:30AM. I arrived at 10:20AM in line. Because of that, I was told I was "too early and my car was not ready". Due to that, I had to upgrade in order to get a car at that time. I paid an additional 31 English pounds. My check out time was 10:38AM, well within the hour window.
I have used Autoeurope in other countries and this was probably the most problematic experience.
Great experience with Auto Europe US, easy website, eliminates the discussion of options at the destination, etc. But EuropCar Italia misled us about the ease of refueling at the end of our trip. They said that there were plenty of gas stations to on the way to the airport. We didn't take names and addresses and we couldn't find any at 5am. When we did find one next to the airport it was out of diesel and we had a diesel engine. That cost us huge last minute anxiety and $109 for a quarter tank of gas. We left a note to this effect with our key and contract, but didn't get a break from them.
The car was economical, ran well and was fun to drive.
Service at car pickup was first rate eg courteous and helpful.
I would rent from Autoeurope in the future
Great Experience until we returned the car. Suddenly mystery charges started to appear on my credit card even though we paid upfront and filled up the tank to the top.
Was very satisfied with the Car rental that I had purchised through Euro-car.Everything was ready and waiting at my time of pick up. Drop off was a breeze, the guy was very nice, asked if I had any issus with the Car, which I did not. When I rent again I would have no hesitation in renting again.
I was disappointed in this rental as the car was very small and uncomfortable.
We flew from Orlando to Brussels in early May and had reserved a compact automatic. Got a VW--Polo-4 dr- nice car with good gas mileage. Checkout was easy.
When we brought the car back 6 days later we got charged for a few things I dont believe we deserved. Fuel charge 2.80 E(car was filled up), l extra day 18.30 E even though it was brought back in the time alloted and a PC Station charge ??of 50.00 Euro's. Additional driver charge was added but this was fine as we had requested this.
Hopefully we can get some of these charges reversed.
The local vendor said that they had no record of our payment - they had the reservation, but not verification of the payment. There was also some issue of the change of ownership or something. It took a long time to finally get our car.
the on line registration process was just fine, though.
Had no problems booking through Autoeurope.com and would recommend them. All details worked out perfectly and had no issues at all.
Picked up vehicle in Rance with drop off in Italy. Diesal was cheap. Van had no issues
Auto Europe did everything right. Europcar, however, did not. The car was in excellent condition and pickup when well although extremely slow. The turn in in Paris was a nightmare, however. We picked Invalides as a turning point, but there is only a desk at the terminal, where the clerk in very fast and poor English said we had to go to a parking garage further down the quay to turn in the car. He provided the poorest drawn map I have ever encountered. Instead of saying turn left, go two blocks and u-turn into garage. We spent 45 minutes in Paris traffic trying to find a well hidden garage, no one we asked could direct us to the right place. The map showed the road curving to the right when in reality we should have never gone around a curve.
Picked the car up at Rome airport from Hertz. No problem with Hertz but difficult to find and return due to its on airport location. Extra driver fees expensive but necessary.
Biggest problem was the crowd waiting to rent. Apparently AE sent all of it business to Hertz in Rome. Other agency desk (Avis, etc.) were uncrowded. This happened to us in Florence several years ago (AE sent everybody to EuroCar) and it was a disaster. AE needs to spread the rentals around among the rental agencies to avoid this problem.
Greta company to deal with. Received my GPS in a timely fashion and renting a car in Europe threw them was so easy and everthing went as scheduled. Thanks for helping us with our Italy experience.
This is the fourth or fifth time I have rented a car through Autoeurope in the last 3 years. The car was always provided by AVIS and there was always a smooth handing over of the vehicle and a very easy return. If I go to Germany again next year, I will definitely book with Autoeurope again. The rates are competitive and the guaranteed upgrade is always appreciated.
We were able to book and pay for our rental car with ease. The place to pick up the car was polite and helpful. They had our car ready and all the information needed. The car ran well and no issues with it. Only issue was at drop off. We were told there would be a drop box for keys since we had a 6am flight at Bergamo airport. It took us a while to find the airport rental car drop off (we weren't given any info on where this was when we picked up the car). Then when we found it, there was no drop box and no instructions on where to leave the keys. We left them in the car and left in order to make our plane on time.
Great folks to work with, best prices I could find anywhere
Had issues with Hertz in returning a car, but Euro was there to
help. Would highly recommend them with your car needs when
in EUROPE.
Everything with the rental was fine except for all the "added costs". Extra charges were not highlighted during the booking process and were only listed in small print on the voucher. As a result we were unhappily surprised when we arrived at the checkout counter only to find multiple categories of additional charges. The representative was very pleasant and did explain the charges. We were further surprised when we got the final invoice and found it to be even higher than the original one. That was also explained. Unfortunately what started out to be a "good" deal financially ended up being fair to poor. I will likely not use AutoEurope in the future but go directly to a US based rental car agency such as Hertz or Avis so that I know all the charges up front.
I was completely satisfied. The car was perfect. The price was right. The employees of the rental company were very efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. Picking up the car and turning it in was easy and very fast. Could not have been better. Thank you!
The service in Rome is much better than last time I rented 4 years ago. The downside is still that the people when getting the car are not very interested, do you give you any receipt when you check back in, and it would be wonderful if the instruction book with the car were in English and not just in language of country where car is obtained.
Take your time and be careful before you rent from Auto Europe. They sound like friendly folks but are quick to roll over the additional costs once you finish the rental. They are only a car rental broker and one should take the time before making an important costly decision.
Great price, great little car in impeccable condition, great service, I love you.
Feel free to quote me.
I would recommend to my closest friends and family this service.
The GPS was a POS. It often could not find things, was amazing clunky to use and frustrating. Car rental went without a hitch.
We had dropped off some luggage in Munich and then returned to the Kempinski hotel after dropping off the car. Later I realized that I had left some medication in one of the suitcases Munich. I returned to Hertz and explained the situation, fortunately they were able to giver a car for three hours for a reasonable rate.
The car rental company was easy to work with. Everything went smoothly. We got the GPS and I would highly recommend everyone get one when driving in Europe. Returning the vehicle was a breeze. I would use this company again, and you should too if you're looking for a professional company like you would expect in the US.
It was difficult to find both the check in area in Madrid, and the drop off area in Barcelona, but that would have been the case with any other rental car agency as well.
A good experience overall, but lost 2 hours wandering around the Frankfurt-Weisbaden area trying to find the right road(s) to Saarbrucken. Also needed to know where to drop off car at Paris' Gare du Nord. Could've used more help with a good map/directions in each case. One lesson learned: drop off car in suburbs in Paris, near a Metro line, to avoid inner-city congestion.
Wonderful experience with Europcar.
Easy check in and out, safe vehicle, clean.Experienced employees.
It was a real pleasure and we will rent again with Europcar.
Auto Europe is easy to use with no hidden fees. They offer free country guides that help ease any reluctant driver's fears. Overall, they are a reputable clearinghouse for shopping the best rates for high quality car rentals.
It was larger than we expected, lovely to drive, and pretty cool the way the side windows folded when you locked the car. Harder to knock off. Basically no complaints at all about the car, although it would have been nice to have two keys.
we were very pleased with our rental experience in Central London. The staff were friendly and the car was easy to find and return. My only suggestion would be that when you rent cars, particularly to visitors from other countries, it would be nice to have a short crib sheet or explanation on the rules of the road. There is a congestion zone in London which is sometimes hard to avoid, the speed limits and road signs are very different too.
I was really surprised with the excellent service and follow up Auto Europe provided.
very easy to rent. they have many locations to offer. price covers all you need, including unlimited miles and necessary insurance
Woman who got us the car was not pleasant - no smile, no warmth, no nothing. acted like taking us to the car was doing us a huge favor. car was fine except the voice for the gps had been left on and it took us a while to figure out how to turn off. renters should be shown where the release button for the gas tank is. even the gas station attendant had difficulty finding it. Man who checked the car back in was delightful. good sense of humor and very helpful. signage to show one how to get from turn in to the terminal is terrible.
The overall experience was very good. The reservation process was fairly easy and the pricing was quite competitive. We picked up the car (Ford Focus diesel wagon) in Firenze and dropped it off in Torino. Put many km on it in the middle. The vehicle was clean and well maintained by all accounts. Picking up and dropping off was fairly painless, particularly in Torino when we arrived just as the office was closing.
The girl who checked us in not only upgraded us because of car problems, but she also went online and got our new Australian phone setup. I liked the speedy check in also.
Thanks
My Europcar rental was fantastic.. It met every criteria I have for a good car rental. The price was reasonable and the vehicle outstanding. The trunk was completely adequate for 4 large suitcases.
I have always used Auto Europe for my rental needs in Europe. They are always reliable with excellent prices and great service, both before and after the rental period. There was only one small problem this time concerning the rental period, which I caught at the rental office and corrected. Had I not caught it, it would have been costly as I would have exceeded mt rental terms by one day. Other than that, no problems!!
