Bought a new laptop. Researched spec beforehand, one question answered immediately by a call back after to me after my online enquiry. Arrived within two days, exactly as ordered. One minor technical query dealt with by after sales support service promptly and effectively. I will check out buyitdirect.co.uk next time I plan a purchase.
I was so pleased with the quality of the headboard and the excellent service I received from this company that I immediately ordered another. Out went my old metal headboards & in place I have Julien Bowen wooden ones, the cheapest site I could find plus free delivery. Brilliant service.
I purchased bedroom furniture to the value of £338.93 from this company only to find that one cabinet was damaged and the other 2 they had sent me the wrong cabinets. I sent them photos of the damage and requested that they replace the wrong cabinet and was even prepared to keep the damaged cabinet for a discount. It has taken a week of emails some they receive and conveniently some they dont. I have become that sick that I have contacted them by telephone to request that they come and take everything away and to give me a refund so that I can take my business elsewhere. They are now dragging their heels with the collection which in turn will delay the refund.
STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY AS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXTREMELY BAD - THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS
Have ordered many times from this company - each time with a problem! - so am now at the point where I give up as they clearly don't value service.
Always deliver late - then on this occasion... still no goods and told would take another week... ask for refund and they wont even do that until they receive the goods from their own delivery company! what does that have to do with me?!
Tried hard to give them the benefit of the doubt on too many occasions.
I would have been thrilled but for 2 things :
1. Your payment system. It is impossible to forward the purchase to an address other than the one used by the credit card company - perhaps in the UK it is possible but abroad, not. This caused problems as the address used by VISA is my P O Box no. As a result
2. I had a problem getting my product as it couldn't be delivered to a box no. It was no easy task getting the local details of your delivery service providers
I am only a customer because they supply for my insurers but I would not wish them on my worst enemy which is sad because although their initial service was in itself so so it was their delivery driver from Hi Way Express who was appalling confrontational and rude I really would urge everyone to steer well clear there are plenty of firms out there with courteous and professional employees, there is no place for this firm in their current state. I am left with a feeling of disgust and disdain along with an unpacked cooker in my hall !!!!!
STEER CLEAR!!!
My boyfriend bought me a brand new Windows 8 laptop as a gift for Christmas and it broke within 3 days. Wouldn't recognise my password and I was definitely entering the correct one. Customer services seemed helpful enough at first but when technical services couldn't help they have decided that I'm not getting a replacement as I've obviously just forgotten my password and it's my own fault! However, if 3 different media companies can't do a simple password reset, it's obviously not just a forgotten password. Customer services have not been contacting me to update me with any new information - I've had to ring them every time to chase them up. This complaint is ongoing.
I purchased a Sumvision Cyclone Voyager Tablet 10.1 off the eBay on a "Buy It Now" option. They took the money only for them the very next day to send me an email saying that the item was not in stock and that "Our Sales Team will be in touch shortly to discuss alternatives. Our expert team will, wherever possible, be able to offer you a similar product to your first choice".
I told them I wanted my money back, they told me that I had to wait 48 hours.... Now hold on a minute.... They can take the money for an item that doesn't exsist RIGHT AWAY, but I'm supposed to wait 48 hours for my refund? I think not. I contacted PAYPAL who sent them this email:
"Buyer’s eBay User ID: w********
Payment date: 2nd January 2012
Payment amount: 154.97
You have contacted this buyer to advise that you do not have the item in stock and you are going to be issuing a refund to the buyer. You also advised the buyer that it will take you over 48hrs in order to issue this refund.
I would highly recommend you issue the refund with immediate effect as the buyer paid in good faith and the payment completed to you on the same day 2nd January 2012.
Failure to do so will result in the creditor filing a dispute against you or a credit card chargeback.
Regards
Claire
PayPal"
So I contacted thexse Muppets again and this time they said it's going to take 24 hours.
Shop with this trader at your peril.
P.S. They're STILL offering the item on the eBay like they have it in stock.
I bought a Sony Vaio from them. The Laptop duly came and the security seal had been broken. A sticker claiming the memory had been upgraded was attached. This was utter rubbish, the memory was the same amount as advertised. The manual was tatty and nothing was sealed. It was clear the laptop had been out before and been returned. The final straw came when I booted it up and the default language was Polish !! I rang them and arranged to return the unit at my expense £22.00 !. When I finally did get a refund, they deducted £50.00 to restore it to factory settings !!. Id not even made any changes. They advised me to complain to Tina Fuller. How she has a job Il never know. I have emailed them 4 times but they never respond. Im now leaving it to my Credit card company to sort out. They may be a bit cheaper, but believe me, its just not worth it. Please please please, steer well clear .
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (OR ANY OF ITS SUBSIDIARIES) - We bought an All in One refurbished Computer from Direct TVS last Oct 12 and also paid for an extended warranty £29 - NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT IS WRITTEN ON. Our computer started crashing (with blue screen dumping files etc) within 2 months of purchase it was returned for repair - they charged for the return and also to copy our hard drive - total charge £50. As other people have mentioned you are told that it will be returned within 28 days - not so, ours was gone for nearly 7 weeks. Within two weeks of its return to us it started to crash again, rang them to arrange return but refused to pay for collection - was shocked when told by customer services that no repair had been carried out as not fault found during the 7 weeks away. To cut a long story short our computer was returned to them three times and on the third time we refused to accept it back. Complaint letters were written to Customer Relations, specifically Tina Fuller who is as helpful as a Chocolate Teapot! She seems to be paid to fend people off and do everything in her power to blame you the customer for any problems. Copy letters were also sent to Nick Glynne Managing Director - no response every received from him so he is obviously happy with the way his Company is run.
As per previous reviewers this company does not operate within the rules of the sale of goods act 1979, especially Tina Fuller Customer Relations Manager who has obviously never read this particular law but still tries to put her own interpretation on it.
We took Buy It Direct to the small claims court, they ignored the court notice so we requested that judgement be issued against them. They also ignored this so we issued a Warrant for Bailiffs to go in with the result that we have just received a cheque from the court for all the monies owed including all court fees. This is a really easy process and can be done online - from court issue to cheque in approx 8 weeks - so do not waste time arguing with this company just take them to court.
We purchased an Air Conditioning unit from Appliance Direct which basically set FIRE whilst in use in our office within the 1st month. They told us we need to fully package the large heavy item and return it to them at our cost for repair, we explained to them that we could not keep large packaging here as we don’t have storage so could they send a courier with the appropriate packaging to collect the faulty item they told us NO and if the goods arrive back to them with any kind of damage then they would not repair the unit. Thanks Tina Fuller, Customer Relations Mismanager!!!
I ordered a Toshiba laptop at 4.30pm via Ebay and it arrived the next morning.the price was excellent.
Unfortunately the Laptop had a fault but the returns process was relatively painless. The faulty Laptop was collected quickly and I received a replacement within a few days.
Communication via E message was prompt and efficient.
I would add that phone numbers are premium rate numbers and this is not clearly stated by Buyitdirect. on their site.
Overall a good experience
Same issues as many other reviewers. I won't bore you with the full details but in summary my product was faulty after 3 months. I had to really push to get any recognition of the problem and any action to correct it. I lost count of the number of calls I had to make to this company to find out what was happening to fix my problem. No one was interested and their processes seem designed to go slowly.
Staff had no knowledge of sale of goods act and manager said he couldn't discuss 'legal issues' with me when I pointed out that they were in breach of the legislation.
I had to wait weeks and weeks for them to collect the faulty machine and then more weeks for them to assess the machine and get the replacement to me.
During this time my business was suffering because I had no computer, but any attempt from me to hurry things along was met with casual indifference from Buy It Direct.
I'm now reconciling my accounts for this tax year and I've just noticed that Buy It Direct have refunded me less than I originally paid for the first faulty purchase. Can't say I'm looking forward to what I expect will be a battle to try and get my £30 back.
I was attracted to this company because of a great looking product at a great price. However, be warned that if something goes wrong with the purchase, Buy It Direct are a nightmare to deal with.
This company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Be warned they do not trade according to the sale of goods act 1979. I returned faulty goods and they refused me a refund. After several weeks I have received a partial refund but not my return postage for the item. I have emailed them endlessly and sent a copy of the invoice to their head office (they lost it)
If you have a problem they do not do customer service - they will try everything to get out of it. I took product advice from them, the product did not do what they saidf it would do - they would not take the product back.
we have a Sony laptop that simply stopped working after less than three months. We were directed to the sony repair centre and it was duly couriered there. We are now accused of tampering with its insides and therefore nobody will honour the warranty or replace. Crazy, is if we'd tamper with a brand new laptop that is in full warranty. These people are crooks, go elsewhere!
One star.....this company should be rated in minus stars.
The worst company I've ever dealt with, stay clear of these people they use your money as an interest free loan.I wonder how many people never get their money back?
Pirates on the internet.
Good Prices, Good friendly staff, Good Service, Good after sales support, Good products. That's what makes Good customers
Avoid this company like the plague. If you don't heed my words be careful of:
- their imaginary list of postcodes they don't deliver to on saturdays but still make you pay for
- their terrible, offensive and rude customer service staff
- their lack of offering to pick up goods as part of the WEEE directive
- their lack of understanding how customers should be compensated for their mistakes, not the customers cheek to order something.
- their thinking that it's the customer's fault not theirs...
Honestly, the worst company i've ever dealt with online. Period.
After being badly let down by PC World, My son and I have bought a new refurbished computer, really impressed with the level of service received from Ben when inquiring about the computer, and explained we was hesitant as only had 3 months warranty but was advised I could buy a years for an extra £29.00 well worth it for the piece of mind. A couple of phone calls as paid for Saturday delivery only to find there new couriers didn't deliver in my area, but it arrived Monday and well impressed, there was a foot missing on the key pad and I mailed them and I have received a new foot 2 days later in the post. Everyone was very pleasant who I spoke too, this makes a nice change.
Never use this company or any of their associated companies (Server Direct, Laptops direct, Acer Direct) you will rue the day you do... complete contempt for the customer
We arranged for a dishwasher to be delivered - delivery costs £20. All fine.
Delivery was arranged between 1pm & 4:30pm.
We arrived home at 1:05pm; a note in the door says that they have been and gone.... fair enough, we were late.
But my neighbour then tells me that they arrived at 12:45.... 15 minutes earlier than expected. So even if we were home at 1pm, then we would have missed it.
Customer services tell me that it will cost £40 to redeliver, double the original cost.
The original delivery cost of £20 is subsidised, it actually costs £40.
So i cancelled the order, costing me the original £20 delivery.
I have reordered elsewhere, at the same cost and saved the £40 re-delivery.
AppliancesDirect are £20 out of pocket due to subsidising the original delivery.
Oh well.
If i was them i'd rather have had the sale, than lose £20 on a no sale.
I ordered a dishwasher and was informed that for a payment of £75.00 it would be delivered and fitted at the same time. This was not the case, the fitter arrived a week later but was unable to fit it, although the new dishwasher was exactly the same dimensions. The company have refused to return my money and I am now in the process of persuing them through the small claims court.
The web is full of complaints about this. The way it works is:-
1 The terms & conditions 'clearly' state that the claim must be received between 14 and 30 days from date of invoice.
2 When the claim is received, they send an email acknowledgement "Allow 45 days for receipt of cashback from acknowledgment of your successful claim." You might think this email implies that your claim is successful - not so.
3 After a further 45 days an email is received, saying that the claim was too early, and has failed. The 30 days has now expired, so no new claim. Cunning eh?
I bought an Acer PC which had an intermittent fault and they said to return it. It took almost 3 months for them to return it (they claimed it would be returned within 28 days) and I had to constantly 'eMessage' them to ask what was going on. When it eventually came back (fixed) I asked for a refund of postage and when I sent them the receipt they refused to refund it, claiming that this was because more than 28 days had passed. They didn't seem to care less about pleasing the customer. Their deals look good but if something goes wrong you'll regret it.
I've written to them to complain, I'll not hold my breath.
I ordered a Filter and fitting kit for my Neff extractor. They were polite and informative on the phone and even sent an email when when delivery was going to be delayed (It wasnt it still came within the 7 days they quoted!!) and delivery was by Royal Mail so it would of been easy to pick up from my local depot if I wasnt in (I was).

I strongly suggest to stay away from Buyitdirect.co.uk.
They sold me a bad LG monitor. Never mind the little scratch on top of it, it came with a very annoying dead pixel in the middle of the screen. They said I have to keep the monitor as it is because they won't replace it...one pixel is not enough as a fault. Absurd, truly unfair to sell a faulty monitor as if it was not!
Their customer service was appalling, especially this very unfriendly lady... They said they'd call back but never did.
Do yourself a favour stay far, far away from this unreliable company called buyitdirect.co.uk and LG products (Can't believe how poorly built they are).
Laptop broken after 3 months. Refused to replace or repair. Seem completely unaware of the sale of goods act 1979.
Will be taking them to the county court.
I purchased a Acer laptop with a £100 cash back offer, this I duely filled in a posted(registered) to them in the timeframe as per there terms and conditions. Having heard nothing for 7 weeks I contacted them and the denied recieving my claim, even though I checked the royal mail website 3 days after posting which confirmed delivery the day after posting. I now need to find the reciept from the post office with the tracking number 8 weeks later to prove they recieved it.
i bought a laptop from this company payed cash at the counter after finding out it was faulty i was told by customer services i had to return the laptop myself because they didnt deliver it i drove the 140mile round trip to be told i couldnt get a refund and had to settle for a different laptop with lower speck company policy no refunds after 7 days i just hope one day one of them brings there car to my garage
I was impressed with the reasonable prices and quality of the laptops available. Buying a graded laptop meant I was able to get a better one than I would have been able to if I bought a new one.
Although I went for the cheaper standard delivery, it still arrived the next day.
I was also pleased with the price of the case and mouse package that was recommended for my laptop. However, the laptop case was for a standard size laptop rather than the widescreen one that I'd bought. So it only just fits in the case, but is too wide to fit in the padded pocket in the case.
The staff were extremely helpful on the phone, making sure I got the product to suit me. There was a bit of confusion because I rang back to cancel a Microsoft Word installation on the lap top but the agent cancelled the whole order. However, when I rang back to point this out, they bent over backwards to put it right and gave me free express delivery to compensate.
I got my product promptly; it was well packaged.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Excellent service. Very good bag for the price. Overall a good fit for my 18.4" laptop. Quick delivery was also helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.
Laptop arrived on time and as advertised.
Excellent and would ideally recommend
I have found this to be a top class multimedia laptop, I knew Sony were changing
soon to the usual Plastic models,so I wanted to get one of the last Magnesium
chassis models. I was lucky to get this at this Company which I found to offer
first-class service. It is a superb machine and highly satisfied on all counts.

Placed my Laptop order at 6.45pm and my Laptop arrived at 8.15am the following morning. Great Service
Laptop arrived on time as promised. Well packaged, no issues at all. Would buy from again.
I purchased an ASUS laptop off this company in February 2009 with a 730 day warranty specified on the purchase order. The laptop now fails to boot up and seems like it's probably a hard disk error. I was told by BuyItDirect to go direct to ASUS as the purchase was more than 28 days ago. ASUS told me this laptop is only under a warranty for one year and is therefore out of warranty.
BuyItDirect says that the warranty of 730 days they specified on my purchse order was a mistake, their mistake, but are not going to honour it.
I am taking legal action against BuyItDirect. Do not be tempted by their offers, it's false economy.
