Very easy to rent online with Rentalcars.com so can recommend to use them.
Car provided was from Dollar, although the rental was prepaid the service at Dollar was extremely slow (a Sunday morning with minimum staff numbers) which is not what you need after a 12 hour flight to the USA. Other wise the rest of the service from Dollar was excellent.
I write my name and surname, cause this is the true, Dr. Marcello Palazzolo (reservation number 462622141) and we had a very bad experience with Rentalcars.com and Thrifty in Slovacchia, Budapest Airport.
We chose Rentalcars cause the price for 3 days was around 70 €. Good at the beginning, instead the real amount paid at shit Thrifty was 148 € !!!!
Rentalcars.com didn't inform us about any country border limit (they just wrote unlimited km), so we went simply to Poland. Neither that shit of Thrifty informed us about that fee. When we come back, we had to pay 78 € more + local taxes !!! It's a real shame !
We will never use this crap service anymore!
We pre-booked a car for our holiday in Italy. I searched all the sites on the internet and Rentalcars.com was the cheapest and easiest to use. I've used them before and was very satisfied.
The desk was easy to find at Rome airport and the car hand over was quick and easy. I would have preferred a Renault Clio to the Audi A1 we were given (better visibility front and rear) but we knew we had to take whatever was available in the class.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and I would happily use Locauto and rental cars again.
As usual, easy to book, great value, very good, clean car - the whole experience was stress free - just what I like on holiday!!
Perfect Van size, easy to drive. Good service in pick up but better when return.
Location and price convenient. Initial car did not perform so returned to the airport for a replacement car which apparently was a premium to that paid for and seemed like a good car. Only other issue as with all car hire so many other add ons referred to at checking and would prefer better info before the rental in particular the insurance differs to UK experience where we expect priority to be given to Third Party Risks..
easy to book, straight forward pick-up. Only problem limited opening hours means sometimes difficult to arrange train travel to coincide with opening hours.
wir haben novchmals nachbezahlt, sowie wurden falsch informiert , auf rückzahlung warte ich bis heute, falsche reifen obwohl winter beschtelt mit sommer gefahren usw.... es ist vorbei und wir haten schönnen urlaub
fast service very good equipment (car and navigation)
Picked up at the airport and taken to GOLDCARS, having booked on-line minimum time with collecting vehicle. Car was clean and in excellent order. Assistant spoke very good English and was very helpful After a long flight having a brief informative handover was a blessing.
Car was decent but dirty inside. Be aware that although you think you have paid everything that they will want to swipe your credit card for 600 euro incase you damage a tyre, wing, roof undercarriage, etc... I bought insurance in the UK for this which cost about £30 and this covers you for all these items. If you don't they try to sell it to you for a varied amount but a lot more than £30.
They don't like the fact you bring insurance but they can't say no when you have the documents there.
en effet pas ou peu de coffre (peugeot 107) Donc valises restent apparentes sur banquette arriere. Probleme pour voyager.
this added another expense to our cheap week holiday
the car hire was great although trying to find the car was not easy in the first instance as the sign said go to OI couldnt find that area. walked around for ages eventually ended up back where were started but found bus and transfered to other terminal to pick up car. on arrival at other terminal it wasnt easy to find the car rental place as the drop off bus was covering the sign. but i asked the bus driver and he pointed at the entrance.
then all was fine we had a nice short queue so not so many people booked i guess but great for us as not a long wait. nice to sit and chat rather than stand behind an informal counter.
in reverse the drop off was quick and no issues.
if youve not driven in south of france before take out the excess waiver as the are crazy drivers. we luckily didnt need to use ours but the risk is high and 400 pounds extra for excess is very steep.
The office location couldn't be better - the choice of cars is really good and the desk staff allowed me to change my vehicle for no extra cost. All the staff at the Manchester branch of Avis really care about their customers.
We found the whole rental helpful easy and hassle free.
We go away every may so if we need a car will use this company again with out a dout
Hi, when I sholud pick up my car the Rentalcars/ Avis counter was closed. Yhe guy in Goldrental (?) in next counter said that Avis close 24:00. So I couldn't get my and we were forced to take Taxi yo Benalmadena. Next day I could picka up my car.
My question is: why other ones has open their counters, but nor Rentalcars/Avis?
Next time I'll be sure to get the car before I book a one.
I was very impressed with the car we were given especially as this was the cheapest car hire service for Menorca found on the Internet. We were give a basically brand new car with only 305 Km on the oddometer so everything was pristine and we new we had reliability and it came with full extras such as remote central locking, electric windows and mirrors, onboard digital performance computer.
Yes you have to pay for a full tank of fuel when you collect the car and there is a "Green energy" road fuel tax imposed by the Government which you can't escape but put that and the Rental Cars price together and you still get the best deal around. Many local car hire companies charge the same fee for 3 days car hire what I paid for a weeks car hire.
I always prebook my car hire before going abroad on holiday because it is so easy to do on the Internet and I have not had a bad experience so far. I will certainly be placing car rental requests with Rentalcars in the future and look forward to the next holiday abroad in September
We upgraded and as the car we had upgraded to wasn't ready they gave us a higher upgrade for the same price.
They also gave us an additional driver for no charge.
We were advised to take out a insurance which cost approx £38, we were told by the car hiring compasny in Barbados that this was not valid for them and was of no use.
Disappointed with the petrol agreement. The man who got us our car clearly stated .you only pay for what you have used. And its cheaper if we fill it up .so we took it back with half a tank. Then on handove we was ask to pay for full tank.... I didnt sign it . I Will take this further as we was mis informed on this. Otherwise great car . Although it came with a price
I can have no complaints about the quality of the service provided by Artesa at Bilbao Airport. I was greeted warmly and professionally on the Airport site, the retal was exactly as described, I was given the option of returning the vehicle with a full tank, paperwork completed and walked to the car by the representative and drove away from the Airport within 15 minutes. Great service. Equally on return. The vehicle drop off was a little more complicated to find, but the courtesy of the welcome and swift service saw the return completed in 5 minutes.
The only problem was the car itself. Clean, with only 11,000kms, the Citreon C3 1.1 petrol was underpowered for the mountains of Galicia. With two adults and luggage the experience was one of constantly changing down through the gears to master even the slightest incline. There was a moment in the Parking in the Hotel in Bilbao where I thought that we would have to push the car to get it out!
Clearly you get what you pay for, but the lack of power needs to be addressed.
The service I got from Rentalcars was excellent and I had absolutely no problems with the car or with any service at the pick-up and drop-off points. If only I have one issue that would be regarding the reduction of damage excess and the way the calculations work. Rentalcars have a damage-excess-refund policy where for a small additional premium you can have your damage-excess refunded after the company that lets the car charges you for the excess should any accident occur. However the rental company that lets out the car have a excess reduction policy whereby for a similar additional premium you can have all the liabilities transferred to the car company and you will not be charged any excess at all. Fortunately for us we did not have to exercise this provision as we did not have any incident. Rentalcars could have mentioned the other option too, but they did not.
good pick up point fast service ,clean car helpful staff, would use again
negative - Tom Tom software not updated
€18.75 for "out of hours" at 1830!!!!!
Charged for damage that was not done during hire, was even checked when car was returned!!!
Europcar Mallta are complete thieves, avoid like the plague, real con men.
Booked a car in Birmingham, England. Had to go to a funeral. Paid with credit card on line ($197). Got there and no record of us booking a car or our payment. We were in a bind and had to book another car and pay again ($265). After getting back to the states, I have been dealing with them for three weeks. They refuse to refund our money, saying that they gave us our car. I am so angry.
Do not use. They are based out of Saudi Arabia.
Booked with rentalcars as it seemed a good price. When we went to pick up the keys, the deposit can only be taken by credit card, even though I had a visa debit and cash. This ment I was forced to buy the 100 euro insurance waiver. Even though I also paid up front for the collision waiver online (waste of money as it only covers paint and bodywork). So I paid for two lots of insurance without choice. Then I had to pay for the toll road detector at 1.50 a day. Then I had to pay 95 euro for the first tank of fuel (I dont believe such a small car costs this to fill up) with no refunds for any left over fuel. So the origional £110 ended up costing about £310 in the end. However once there you have no choice as you've alreay stumped up 100 and they wont take debit cards or cash! Scammers! There were 5 other groups having the same arguments as myself at the counter while I was there so its the norm. You've been warned, if you dont have a CC with £2000 free on it you will be taken for the insurance, even if you have paid for another upfront.
It was really hard to find the return location. I left my hotel, which is around 6 minutes, and I didnt reach there with the no-help from GPS until one hour later. So, I think it would be much better for the fist time travelers to London to have the return address properly setup in the rented GPS system.
First we were worried if everything .ll work properly as prices were lower than prices on sites of rental companies but it really works We used the renatalcars already twice and both times we did not face any problemsSo I will deff recommend renatlcars to my friends and to everybody reading this feedback
PHONED RENTAL CARS TO BOOK A CAR LAST FRIDAY MORNING. THE PLAN WAS TO HAVE A LONG WEEKEND IN IRELAND. I WANTED TO SPEAK TO A REP IN PERSON BECAUSE I NEEDED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CAR WOULD BE AT THE FERRY PORT WAITING FOR ME . THE REP TOOK MY CREDIT CARD DETAILS AND SAID HE WOULD CHECK AVAILABILITY. I TOLD HIM THAT I NEEDED A QUICK ANSWER AS I WAS CATCHING THE FERRY IN THREE HOURS TIME ( I LIVE APPROX TWO HOURS AWAY) HE SAID HE WOULD GET BACK WITHIN THE HOUR. NOTHING HAPPENED SO I RANG HIM AND SAID I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE FOR THE FERRY AND I COULD NOT BOARD THE FERRY WITHOUT CONFIRMATION OF A CAR AT THE OTHER SIDE. AGAIN HE SAID HE WOULD GET BACK TO ME. HALF AN HOUR LATER I RANG AGAIN AND TOLD HIM TO CANCELL THE BOOKING AS I HAD BY NOW MISSED THE FERRY. HE SAID I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY AS THE CAR HAD NOW BEEN BOOKED AND WAS AVAILABLE AT THE DOWNTOWN DEPOT IN DUBLIN. I TOLD HIM THAT AS IT HAD TAKEN SO LONG TO CONFIRM I HAD MISSED THE FERRY AND ALSO THE CAR WOULD NOT BE WHERE I ORIGINALLY ASKED FOR IT TO BE PICKED UP. THE REP WAS NOT INTERESTED. I AM NEARLY £100.00 OUT OF POCKET ! OUT OF POCKET FOR THE FERRY ! AND A RUINED WEEKEND. i HAVE COMPLAINED TO THIS COMPANY BUT THEY SAID THAT AS THE CAR WAS AVAILABLE I HAVE NO CLAIM. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NOT USE THESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS AGAIN
The guys at the pickup desk were really great. After a bit of form filling we were handed the keys to the Ford Focus we had booked and off to collect the car from its collection bay as we had been instructed. A brand new car...wow.!! It was very good for the 4 of us and drove like a dream.
Nothing went wrong and if it had done, you felt that the Hertz guys would have sorted it anyway.
All in all, a great experience.
Hand over at Avis in Glasgow was very detailed and the gent on reception very helpful as there had been an accident and he drew us a map on how to avoid that particular stretch of motorway. After finding a few more scratches on the car before I drove away he came right out and apologised, Excellent service. on drop off in a different location had to wait ages as huge queue, not enough staff on, 2 people at desk and 11 people waiting to give cars back but they were helpful and friendly once served. Would definitely use this company again as way cheaper than price quoted from easy jet car rental.
The car was of excellent quality, representing good value for money and, coming as it did with zero excess included, made for a very relaxing touring holiday.
Staff were very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly both when collecting our car and also when returning it.
Car was in excellent condition, which can be unusual in Italy, clean and tidy.
Also the cost was very competitive and much cheaper than I have paid before for a similar size car from the same airport with other larger car hire companies.
I would use Locauto again on all future car hire.
Excellent overall experience with a new VW Golf through the Southwest of England. The handling upon delivery was efficient and dealt with a problem in a professional way: the grouping of cars under "E" shows in the internet an automatic drive, which does not correspond with actual grouping, which s manual. No long discussion, they accepted the internet version!
Other than that it was a pleasure to drive this VW through the narrow lanes of Cornwall, to experience the new distance speed control, and have a very low mpg ratio. Thank you avis/Budget antd Rentalcars
The whole experience was easy from beginning to end. The car was of an extremely high standard considering I had booked a basic model. I loved it to the point if I was buying a new car I would definitely look at a Mia. Thanks to all
Used GPS in Italy. On way from Florance to Assissi it could not locate Assissi as a destination. After getting out of Florance safely and driving about an hour on a road that seems to go in the general direction of Assissi we stopped at pitstop to ensure that we are traveling in the right direction. To our surprise we were on route to Bologne, which is directly in the opposite direction!! Only at that point the GPS recognised Assissi. I phoned the hotel in Assissi to tell them about our predicament and that according to the GPS we are more than 500 km from our destination. Instead of providing us with the shortest route to Assissi, the GPS let us drive all the way up to Bologne and then back to Assissi!! A detour of about 250 km!!
We also struggle to deliver the car at the airport in Rome, because it was not possible to ask the GPS to take us to the drop off point for rental cars. The signage at the airport is also not that good. As a result we drove around the drop off point about four times before we got to the entrance. This was somewhat nervebreaking because the departure time for our flight to SA was running out fast.
I believe the one problem was that the GPS was set to provide directions based on an address and not on co-ordinates as well. The other problem was that I was not ofe enough to get to settings for co-ordinates and shorter routes on the GPS. Any way, it was, although nerve wrecking some times, a very fun experience.
Please note collision damage waiver not included, when original stated in the quote. Paid an extra £ 75.00 for insurance for 4 days hire.
I would never use again
When I went to pick up the rental car I was advised that I would be liable for certain items not covered by the contract. These included uninsured motorist liability, road safe liability, plus others that I did not wish to have. My original contract clearly stated Uninsured motorist protection although it did not specifically mentioned road safe liability. (This was explained to me as follows: in the event the car has a mechanical breakdown the rental car firm had the option to repair the car at point of breakdown or have it towed (returned) to the original pick up point at the hirer's expense and that road safe liability covered this cost.)
I advised that I was covered for Uninsued Motorist Protection and had to produce my original booking contract to prove this but I knew nothing of roadsafe protection liability nor did I appeared to be covered. The renting firm personnel blamed rentalcars.com for the omission and as a courtesay said they would provide that cover free! As there was no mention od roadsafe protection I elected to take it but questioned why I should be liable for a mechanical failure of their car!! I doubt whether this can be a hirer's liability.
It is important that one always has a cooy of the original contact available when they pick up a car and check everything off against that contract to avoid paying unwarranted additional charges.
