Generally good,, except when they fail to deliver, then poor attitude of staff
Generally have performed quite well over the years i have been dealing with them,
However when the delivery dose not turn up on the day it is promised and confirmed, it is not given any priority to secure its delivered the next day ..... but regrettably that,s not the case.
When i rang their staff ( including eventually speaking to a manager) and requested t they take some initiative with their carrier to ensure it comes on the next working day (unfortunately i now also got caught up with a weekend which compounds the delay further)
My request was not received with enthusiasm. worse i was left with the clear impression they simply dont care a hoot about inconvenienced customers

What screwfix dont want you to know
Yes they are cheap almost everytime but heres the warning.
Power tools etc etc and all made special order by manufacturers for screwfix to meet a budget buying price. When you see a screwfix dewalt drill thats only £89 but everywhere else sells it for £99 you need to know that this price reduction is because the drills made for screwfix are constructed using a poor quality plastic gearset instead of a metallic cast item. Great for the guy who uses a drill twice a year but no good for anyone using it weekly hence why screwfix drills never last very long nor can they be repaired by official dealerships.
I feel as a customer that screwfix are cheating us all.
You are not buying the same quality of tool

Good Product range and Service
I have used Screwfix for many years now, mostly for my home DIY needs and some items for work. I find the staff helpful/ polite and the product range extensive in all the branches.
As they have become more wide spread and popular, I have noticed that their prices have been rising compared to other suppliers. I have also found that you can get caught out by price changes due to new catalogues, special offers, and old stock. Product codes do change, giving two or more for the same product, when at different prices cause problems, especially if you are online.
Online stock levels are an issue as they focus on branch levels in postcode areas. Travelling far and wide for work, searching for branch stock across many postcodes is a pain. This was made worst with an online orders I placed. I visited two stores in South Wales from the North Midlands that showed stock to be told there were stock taking errors. Screwfix later said that they had not placed the order with B&Q and the product had been discontinued. Screwfix did reverse the online order and give me £5.
If you have the time check the cost from other supplies. If time, availability and range of stock is the important issue, then Screwfix takes some beating. Highly Recomended.

Great products
Screwfix offers an array of items with a good choice at prices to suit. Great order online and pickup facility,always have good offers.
Recommended I have never had any problems with anything I have bought from them so far,you should find a branch near you if you want the item quickly.

NO NONSENSE RIP OFF!!!!
I purchased a trade pack of Silverscrews for £18.39 in store (Autumn catalogue) and found when I got home that the same product / part number was £11.99 in the summer 2012 Catalogue (not on special offer or anything), when I phoned to complain I was told by some muppet that there was a new catalogue out and that maybe the price of Zinc had gone up....................... 50% net???? (profiteering or what)
Got my money back and went to Toolstation!

there website is easy to navigate and use
can check the stock save you time and money
b&q should be like this Grimsby in run by Muppet in matching clothing
b&q website was made by dyslexics monkeys on crack
to try to find any thing is a nightmare never mind stock check it to save you a wasted journey

Use it all the time
I've moved from the huge catalogue to the internet to their stores and I've always been happy with them. Quality products, great range and reasonable prices (watch out B&Q and Wickes)

Just had my delivery
I only discovered Screwfix last weekend from my BFs dada and it's great.
We are doing up our flat and I got pretty much everything I wanted from them. I got it a whole lot cheaper than it was at B&Q and a they have delivered it all so quickly. They should be the model for all online businesses.

Great price, delivered quickly
After being told by B&Q that the item i wanted would be 28 days until delivery i checked with Screwfix online and they had the same item cheaper and it arrived in 7 days... deal done. (and yes i know B&Q is the same company, something could be learned from this perhaps!!)

Just the business for DIY projects

VERY POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS .
I USE SCREWFIX A LOT.ALONG WITH TOOLSTATION. BUT WITH BOTH COMPANYS. IF THINGS GO WRONG. MAINY WHEN THEY PPOST THINGS TO YOU1 THEY TAKE NO RESPONYILTY FOR THERE POSTAL COURIERS. WHICH IS DAM WRONG. BUT. MY LATEST EXPERIENCE TAKES THE BISCUIT. I WENT TO MY LOCAL SOUTHALL STORE. 25/04/12. TO PICK UP A ITEM I HAD RESERVED ON LINE. YO QUEUE UP FOR AGAIS YET AGAIN. AS THEY NEVER HAVE ENOGH STAFF THERE TO SERVE. THEY GAVE ME THE ITEM IN A BAG. AWAY I WENT. ONLY TO OPEN IT LATER. AND FIND IT WAS A USED DAMAGED ITEM. BUT! I DIDNT THINK I HAD ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. I JUST RANG CUSTOMER SERVICE. THINKING THEY WOULD SEND ME ANOTHER ONE. BY POST. ___ WRONG.___ THEY WOULDNT. THEY JUSTINSITED I WENT BACK TO STORE AGAIN. WELL I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU! BUT I HAVENT THE TIME TO WASTE IN TAFFIC AND QUEINF UP AGAIN IN THERE STORE WHICH! IS ALWAYS SHORT STAFFED. FOR THERE ERROR IN SELLING ME A SECOND HAND ITEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. SO I WILL BE GIVING THEM A LOT LESS BUSINESS IN FUTURE AND RECOMED OTHER PEOPLE WHO USE THEM TO THINK ELSEWHERE FOR THERE SUPPLIES. AND LIKE A LOT OF REVIEWS. IVE READ. we use screwfix regularly as it serves our purpose for so many things
Screwfix are so reliable and always keep their delivery dates and when you live so far out in the country they still achieve their promise, not like some who won't even deliver to Scotland.

Good products but appalling website orders
I have used the website three times; in all cases the goods were not in the store when I got there and despite having a dated printout in my had - the aylesbury manager insisted they had no record of the order.
Fed-up with being be-littled in the store I now only visit and buy direct at the store.
Products are good and at good prices, but the website orders are atrocious, the last one I phoned and spoke, promises were not matched by performance. No explanation from complaint came forthwith, nothing! Nowt. Just like their in-store delivery.
Avoid poor website.

A good value company with good service
Generally if someone else is selling is cheaper than screwfix you are getting a very good deal. Im a plumber and I only use another supplier if they don't have it.

perfect for ordering your small items what you need for on site and if you cant wait and have a good boss that lets you finish at a good time of day you can pop into 1 of there stores on the way home
