[REPLY]
I bought tickets for Rod Stewart last year in Vegas and also for this year at the O2.
Last year the instruction for pick up were clear and worked well although I was somewhat concerned that we could only collect them the day before.
On the recent occasion in the UK, I bought the tickets almost six months prior to the concert date. I kept an eye on the ticketmaster site until a week before when I spent countless hours trying to contact Ticketmaster. The most annoying thing was I could get so far only to get a recorded message that eveyone was busy and I should call back later. When I eventually did get through to them, they advised that they had been very busy as they had three events on at the weekend.!!!! They asked me to wait until the Monday 3rd June (I went to see Rod Stewart on the Tuesday 4th June) asnd if the tickets did not arrive, I would have to pick them up at the O2.
As I have never been to the O2, I was very nervous about this and as we had a hospitality package, I was really cross that this lack of professionalism and interest in my problem.
As it happened, the tickets did arrive on the 3rd but only after I had called Ticketmaster yet again and they advised that they were going to make arrangements to issue them at the O2. As soon as I received the tickets, I called them yet again to let them know. I was amazed that they did not know the tickets had been sent out.
What bothers me is they are probably better than most!!
I have just received my phone bill and have over £10 in calls to their help line.
I ordered tickets for a Joe Satriani gig for the 17th june and after a move misplaced them, i looked on their site and it pointed me towards the 'ask a question' link which was useless as it will only let you send in queries for gigs that are up to 5 days in the future. Then after several failed emails and 8 days of trying to get through to their premium rate customer service number ,I was put on hold for 45 mins to be told we dont reissue or replace lost stolen or damaged tickets for unreserved seating, I then quoted my seat number (level 3 row GAO seats 201-202) to which i was simply told "we do not reissue or replace lost stolen or damaged tickets"
I asked to be put through to some one more senior and that person said "i do not like unhappy customers" but refused to offer any help or advice on what i could do.
i have spent several thousands of pounds for various gigs and events over the years, and feel disgusted to be fobbed off in such a way. It may also be worth noting at this point that not only am i down the £100 for the tickets , ive also had to pay x amount of pounds trying to simply get in touch....
IMPORTANT NOTE: It states in their terms and conditions that they reserve the right to cancel and withdraw tickets with no notice and no refund whenever they see fit, even if they have over sold the tickets.
Do not give them the time of day.
The service charge for my tickets is a joke when you consider I have received no 'service' to speak of four days before the event for which tickets still have not arrived. It is unacceptable that Ticketmaster control when you are permitted to email them - five days before the event unless you will be travelling earlier. Your email will not submit if your event date is more than five days away and the holding email I received offered the absurd explanation that they are too swamped with events to deal with my enquiry right now, which is their problem for over-committing. Of course the email address is no-reply and the 'submit another question' option led me nowhere. Online reviews indicate that communication and the stress of last-minute or non-delivery of tickets has been an issue for a long time now and still they take no action to improve, opting to hide from customers unless you are purchasing tickets.
Their online FAQs and ticket dispatch updates still make no mention of my event, leaving no option but to try to call - pointless and expensive as I eventually got cut off because they are too busy to respond. Since I will be away from home in the three days prior to the event, it looks like I will not receive the tickets in time and called the venue for advice instead. Their response was instant and informative - a shame they are relying on Ticketmaster for distribution.
I did not select Ticketmaster in the first place when I bought the tickets back in March - the venue link took me to them, which is infuriating. I will never use this company again.
My father ordered tickets for an early Father's Day present and they never arrived. When he phoned he was told they had been delivered and had a photo of his front door. Basically they are calling him a liar.
Paid for tickets with coach travel to see Robbie WIlliams, got tickets but no email to book coach travel. Now unable to get hold of anyone to help, as to why I did not receive an email, and I know my emails are working fine. Customer service line just plays sames songs over and over, or they just cut you off, but in 2 days still not spoke to anyone. I will keep trying but may cost me more on the phone than just booking coach direct ourself. Never experienced anything like this before. Very stressfull. Prob dont care they have our money!
They're fine for buying from but once it gets difficult they're rubbish and they lie to you as well. I had tickets for a gig and they hadn't turned up 5 days before. When I rang customer services the rep told me the tickets had "come back first time as you put the wrong post code in". The same postcode as I've always had for Ticketmaster orders and never a problem before. When I asked them what the postcode problem was or what was the wrong postcode I'd given them or how I'd given them a wrong postcode... no answer.. I had the promise of a return phone call, which never happened and the CS rep practically shouting over me that it's all my fault and "how's that Ticketmaster's fault?" Typical big US outfit grabbing ridiculous amounts of money in 'service fees' and delivering no service.
I was given a gift token for ticketmaster. In small print is a warning that it expires after a year. No date when it was bought. No reply when trying to contact them when it was to lapse. In fairness, you can get the value on line. Finally, the number of shows to which you can go to are very limited if you live outside of London. What a poor present!
easy to book and pay online, impossible to get your tickets in time! they won`t allow you send them emails,a pop up window just says tickets sent out only need to be received 5 days before event. If you will be away from home and won`t be there as you will be at other concerts (still waiting for those ticketmaster tickets too!)this is ridiculous as you cannot send them the email, the popup sends you back everytime to your question with no option of getting beyond it and contacting them.
HOPELESS .THEY GET YOUR MONEY THEN DON`T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT GETTING YOUR TICKETS AS YOU CAN`T CONTACT THEM!!
Will NEVER use ticketmaster again unless this is resolved quickly and I have not wasted hundreds of punds in tickets I will never receive in time.used other booking agents in past with no problems.WIll recommend my friends use anybody but ticketmaster.
I purchased my tickets for the event today 08/03/13. I paid for secure post, but the tickets have never arrived. They only allow customer to contact them 5days before the event, so I did call them up on Monday. They said I have to collect my tickets at the box office. Fine! So I asked them to return the money I paid for secure post. They brutally say NO. They then said that secure post is the "handling fee" to get me in the venue!!! What the heck! And they said whether or not I chose collect my tickets at the box office, I would still being charged for secure post! The customer service was so RUDE. He went on talking and repeating their ridiculous way of doing business and not letting me to finish my point. OMG, this is ridiculous! This is the worst customer services that I've ever experience in my life. Never again TicketMaster.
My daughters purchased tickets for an event using my card a year before the event was due. I paid extra for secure delivery. The tickets never arrived. You can't advise Ticketmaster of this until 5 DAYS before the event - this is a joke. They had my money for over a year yet we couldn't tell them tickets hadnt arrived until 5 DAYS before the event. Anyway, when we did contact them they said that the tickets would be duplicated and waiting at O2. But the cardholder had to be present! Well, that's fine if if the cardholder is going to the event; however the tickets were bought for my EX HUSBAND AND HIS PARTNER courtesy of my children as a Christmas present. Oh, did I forget to mention, my old card number was no longer valid and it had changed due to fraud. I explained this to Ticketmaster the DAY BEFORE THE EVENT. It took me ages to get through on their premium rate number and all the promises to call me back were NOT FULFILLED. Eventually, at lunchtime on Saturday, the day of the event, they said that they had managed to transfer the payment to my ex husband's card so that he could (hopefully) pick the tickets up 2 hours before the doors opened at the O2. (By the way, I've left out the numerous conversations inbetween which led to much stress and inconvenience - I actually had a nosebleed whilst in the call queue on the Saturday morning). Thank goodness! My ex and his partner attend the O2 and actually get the tickets at long last. Due to the stress, inconvenience and money lost to both myself and my ex, I decide to take my complaint to Ticketmaster. What a joke. I wasnt allowed to lodge it by phone, oh no I had to put it in an email. And guess what - every time you want to follow up your complaint you have to submit a brand new "question" via Ticketmaster's website. After much frustration and no response (apparently there's no timescales for responding to a complaint) I contacted STAR, their supposed "governing body". You would think it was similar to the FSA with banks. Oh no no no. STAR are obviously biaised towards their "ticketing agents" and have advised that my issue is with the provider of the ticket delivery service. Apparently, Ticketmaster are not in breach of their contract as they provided me with entrance to the event!! Even though the tickets never arrived and I had to spend 2 days constantly trying to call and sort the situation out. I dont believe this. I believe that Ticketmaster has the contract with a provider to deliver, i.e. DX Secure (they told me it was Royal Mail for a month they changed their tune). At the point of writing, I am still waiting for STAR (Ticketmaster won't correspond with me anymore) to provide the tracking reference and supposed date of attempted delivery (apparently it was signed for??!) by DX Secure so I can continue my complaint with them. As I pointed out to STAR (they chose not to respond), my complaint doesnt remain at just the fact that the tickets were not received by secure delivery, my complaint is the lack of customer service, extensive cost of contact and obstructive behaviour towards raising a complaint.
Ordered tickets for a rugby match in Ireland .... i am from the UK ... they arrived the day before at my UK address when i was already en route. Telephoned and was on hold for longer than my phone credit allowed and had to buy relacement tickets from another company ... i won't be back in a hurry!
I cant recall a time when (on the day tickets go on sale) I havent had to redial and redial and hold on for anything up to 47 mins (my personal record) on my mobile while in the car (hands free of course !) - tickets available when I do get through are usually rubbish - despite claiming to open the lines at 9am I have never yet managed to get through anywhere near that time and you are also competing with people logged onto the site (which frequently crashes in my experience) - unless you have pre-sale access the hope of a decent ticket is next to nil and the charges for post and admin bump up the price a lot - use Double8.com - you pay over face value but at least you get a decent ticket in the 1st 10 rows of chosen location! and no hassle
In short; tickets didn't arrive, called them 10 days before show date and told to call back closer to date. Called again 5 days before show, and told ok call us the day before if you haven't receive them and they will make them available for us to collect at venue. Ok I thought. Day before event still no tickets, call them and call them but no answer, they have the cheek to filter your calls around and then tell you they are to busy, I called them 39 times over two days and couldn't get through. They don't answer their emails either and only got a response that offered to organize me tickets to collect at the venue 25 mins after it had started- useless and totally unacceptable. Have told them I require a refund or replacement tickets for the same show- we will see what happens - up date coming.
There is nowhere during the booking process to input a delivery address separate to billing address. After accidentally sending tickets to the wrong address (and country) I tried reaching the ticketmaster call centre. After being on hold for over 20 minutes I decided i'd spent more on the call than the tickets and cut my losses.
This is unacceptable lack of customer support when we're forced to pay a 10% service charge! I've had the same problem with 'gigantic' before and was able to resolve it in a few minutes. Definitely never using the service again.
Responsible for the worst ticketing website for the countries greatest event.
Shows continued availability of tickets for loads of events but denies purchase because they have not invested in technology to cope with the demands of a busy website.....
Medal position - LAST!
Ticketmaster take a big cut for the tickets that they sell. Why it takes about 10% of the value of the ticket to sell it I don't know. I honestly think that they should be forced to show what actually makes up the "service charge". For me a ticket is a ticket and then adding on additional fees is as bad as the Airlines hiding a load of extra costs.
All that said I still use Ticketmaster. They are the biggest and most convenient way to get tickets.
Good, but could do much better!
I've used Ticketmaster several times and have always been pleased with the service, particularly the ability to print your own tickets.
Why is it that we find it acceptable to be charged a 'booking fee'????
If I went into Tesco and bought a bag of tea and was told, thank you, that'll be £1.99 plus £0.50p to take your payment .........I'd go elsewhere ...... well, wouldn't you?
But we all put up with it ...... I was charged a stonking extra £12 for two tickets recently, which were already priced at £60 each.
I think it's an outrage!!!
Never had a problem with any staff or ticket delivery etc but it is expensive, it can be slow & seat allocation selection not the easiest. Also my local recommendations aren't remotely relevant to my region.
Have never let me down unlike some other ticket companys so reliability over $$ any day when it comes to tickets
Why is it you have tickets for sale at vastly inflated prices when i can still get from the venue or other sources less? YES youve actually got the tickets when the venues sold out so i cant give you one star......but i have to pay through the nose.
Not entirely sure if your tickets will arrive when booked in advance. no follow up information to make you feel at ease.
Never seem to hear of the things that I would like in my area, maybe I'm too fussy but I have never used them because they don't seem to cover things I look for
Cheaper tickets often available at or near venues, especially in london. Good for vouchers.
Complete pain in the ... this site is tricky to navigate, can't find anything easily and almost impossible to contact them. unimpressed
No problems with ticketmaster - I use them 99% of the time to buy tickets for gigs just because I've always used with no problems!
I really hate paying the booking fee though, and delivery charges for tickets delivered by email is a joke!!
Highest fees, highest delivery charges, one of the worst websites and their despicable practice of allowing people to scalp others online as long as TM themselves get a cut via their reselling website make this a company I avoid at all costs. Scum of the ticket reselling world.
Pretty much says it all really.....frustrating that it seems to be impossible anymore to simply buy a ticket for an event with greasing the palm of companies like these....but at least they're usually reliable unlike several others.
Ticket master have high fees and this tie in with the resale sites they have has a nasty smell.
They are useful though, and the overpriced tickets do arrive
Keeping it easy and fast. But would like to be able to pick specific seats for more things.
OK site. Love how easy it is to use, the tickets don't seem to be massively more expensive than other sites, but I have experienced a few annoying aspects.
For repeat custom, it's good. It's user friendly, stores my details, and let's me know when bands I've seen before are about to tour again. Price-wise it's always seemed OK. If the tickets are pricey for a particular gig then the same gig tickets seem pricey on other sites too.
While they haven't been a dodgy ticket reseller like Viagogo and Seatwave, it does make you wonder how much effort Ticketmaster put in to stopping such companies bulk buying tickets from them. It's technically not illegal, but still doesn't paint them in a good light.
The last time I tried to use Ticketmaster was weird and I hope it wasn't a sign of things to come. I tried to book tickets for a comedy gig at the Hammersmith Apollo.
I picked 2 seats from the seating chart where 3 seats were still available at the end of row N. An error message then popped up telling me I couldn't have the seats as it would leave 1 available seat all by itself.
That really shouldn't be my problem. They sell seats. I've picked 2 seats. Give me what I'm willing to pay for. That 1 seat can be taken up by 1 person. People do go to gigs on their own. It happens.
Instead I ended up going to HMV's own website to book the tickets as they had no such problems, and ended up getting better seats in row M (which Ticketmaster didn't/couldn't offer me).
ticket master is great, quick and the site is clear, colourful and appealing, very good check it out
